Why I Think My Business Struggle is My Own Damn Fault
Is starting a business hard? Yup. But this week, I've been wrestling with a question: How much of our business pain is self-made?
I had a chat with a seasoned entrepreneur (20 years in making businesses 6-7 figures, so he's basically the Yoda of entrepreneurs. He goes:
"Look, if only 20% of what you do really moves the needle, why the hell are you wrapping your business around stuff you hate? Probably your best moves were the ones that felt like a breeze.”
I sat for a second stumped trying to figure out an answer. He was spot on.
I declared ‘Im building a membership site!’ last week because Russell Brunson - the sales funnel guy - said he was going all in at a conference. But despite all effort, I hit a wall in the shape of internal refusal.
Then it hit me: Maybe the "hustle" isn't always about working harder, but working smarter? Dialing into what naturally clicks for us.
I know I’ve heard that sentence enough for my eyes to roll behind my head too— but indulge me for a sec.
Now don’t get me wrong financials, systems, and all the little details are crucial — but when you don’t know what you should be doing — why not start where it’s easy? Or not a major lift?
Taking advice from my "Yoda", 20-40 minute window for each task and leaned into what I’m naturally good at.
The result? In less than an hour, I was setting up podcast interviews, Spotify prepped, and zero anxiety.
What if the key isn’t always about diving into the next big thing, but digging deeper into what already works for us? Maybe, just maybe, there's some low-hanging fruit in your day you've been overlooking?
