Turning $0 into irrational optimism

Words I live by:
Broke is a condition of the mind. And a manifestation of those not willing to do whatever it takes.

For Christmas, I got $0 left in the bank and bills due dates coming up.
My mind said, ’this is where you panic and have an anxiety attack’. But instead, I’m excited.
Now I might sound unhinged. Maybe a normal person would be looking for a 9-5, throw together some half-baked digital product to make money, or reading I Will Teach You To Be Rich or The Psychology of Money like they are some automatic savior.
But here’s the thing. You have two people:
Those who claim they can’t start a business because they don’t have money and never do.
And you have people who built their whole empire from being homeless like the author of The Laptop Millionaire.
It doesn’t feel like being broke just an money influx.
Now full transparency, I don’t have a ‘victory’ story because this issue is a work in progress but here’s what I’m doing instead:
Having fun with business again.
Call it ‘irrational optimism’ but here’s a truth I’m hedging my future on:
Having fun is what got me out of my moldy car and it’s what I’m betting with get me out of my current situation and hopefully permanently this time. 🤞
And every time I’ve done anything stressed or anxious nothing good came out of it.
Let’s do a quick test that Jonathan shared with me:
Lets consider your best work and biggest successes.
Were they they byproduct of doing something that came easy and genuinely loved even if it might’ve been challenging — or because you were anxious and just trying to get to the other end?
If you’re open, I’d love to know your answer (seriously).
Anyway, here’s to enjoyment and building a business we don’t hate.
